Private cask bottling by the distillery – Fresh sherry hogshead 895 – 63.4%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark copper
Nose: Prunes, tobacco, cherries, smoked bacon, nutmeg, polished oak, the maritime smokiness grows with time.
Palate: Prunes, cherries, dark chocolate, tea, liquorice sweets, cinnamon, nutmeg, hints of black pepper.
Finish: Very long, fruity and smoky.
Overall: The delightful nose suggests a higher age, but the palate is still vibrant and youthful. The very strong sherry suits the very strong spirit very well.
Rating: 88/100 – No price information as this is a private bottling

The sherry/peat combo just works wonders sometimes. Sounds like a delicious whisky.
