My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Very spicy with nutmeg, cardamom, cloves and liquorice, then some vanilla, orange zest and the signature whiff of Campbeltown pier.
Palate: Bitter oranges, vanilla, toasted almonds, dark caramel, nutmeg, liquorice and cardamom with just a hint of mint.
Finish: Long, spicy and slightly smoky.
Overall: The small cask maturation creates strong wood spices that almost overpower the spirit. Luckily it was bottled soon enough, so we can still enjoy a very nice dram.
