Springbank 1995/2010 A. D. Rattray

by Oliver Klimek on April 26, 2012

For Alba Import – Sherry hogshead 96 – 49.9%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Copper
Nose: Amarena cherries, orange zest, cocoa, hints of cardamom and nutmeg, water brings out the typical Springbank brininess along with hints of smoked bacon.
Palate: Gentle peat, forest berries, tea, wood, hints of nutmeg and pepper.
Finish: Rather short, dry and slightly smoky.
Overall: This dram has a very impressive nose and nice flavours, but palate and finish are just too weak to deliver what the nose promised.

Rating: 84/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2011 – Re-tasted for notes
