Drop Of The Irish 1996/2011

by Oliver Klimek on April 2, 2012

By Blackadder – Cask 543 – 58.2%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Bright gold
Nose: Creme brulee, vanilla, lemon, hints of apricot and cinnamon
Palate: Vanilla, grapefruit, a little pineapple, vanilla, butterscotch, hints of wood tannins but not really spicy.
Finish: Medium long, slightly fruity and slightly dry.
Overall: A very smooth and elegant dram, even at cask strength. The flavours are quite nice but a lacklustre finish drags it down a little

Rating: 78/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2011 – Re-tasted for notes
