As I was watching the events being celebrated on World Whisky Day on 27th March, a most unusal snippet of news caught my eye. London based agency Echo Brand Design published the launch of a very special whisky on their blog, originally with a reference to World Whisky Day, but this has been removed since then.
In co-operation with an Edinburgh based funeral director, a company called “Tayburn & Stein” is offering a decanter of a bespoke blended malt whisky which incorporates an artificial diamond made from the ashes of a deceased person. Now that’s a pretty unique concept of dramming with your dead grandpa, isn’t it? Just as innovative as disgusting, if you ask me.
More details can be found in a document on scribd.com as well as on a blog about packaging called The Dieline (quite a fitting name in this repsect…). Pricing information is not available, but I would expect it to be on the steep side.
