Bottled by Douglas Laing – Refill bourbon cask 6487 – 56.2%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark straw
Nose: Pungent, even with water. Porridge, lemon, vanilla, pepper and a whiff of smoke.
Palate: Peat, vanilla, corn flakes, brown sugar, lemon, ginger and fresh black pepper.
Finish: Medium long, smoky and spicy.
Overall: This malt makes no secret of its young age. The youthful roughness is not complemented by an awful lot of flavour, though.
Rating: 79/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2011 – Re-tasted for notes
