Cask 2011 – 60%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark gold
Nose: Wood smoke, vanilla, caramel, citrus fruit, hints of cloves and nutmeg.
Palate: Peat, liquorish, vanilla, butterscotch, lemon zest, mixed mild spices, hints of white pepper.
Finish: Long and smoky.
Overall: A rather delicate peaty dram with very subtle flavours. Very nice but not quite on par with other Port Ellens I have tasted.
