Auchentoshan 1998/2011 James MacArthur

by Oliver Klimek on March 15, 2012

Old Masters series – Bourbon cask 102338 – 62.9%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Straw
Nose: Weak, a vague fruitiness with a slight nutty freshness, getting a little stronger with time.
Palate: Quite spirity, a hint of Cadbury Fruit and Nut cocolate, mild spices.
Finish: Medium long and slightly fruity.
Overall: Triple distillation and a refill cask make this an extremely subtle dram. You may well give it a try, if you like that ultra-light style, but this doesn’t cut it for me

Rating: 63/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2011 – Re-tasted for notes
