Glenlossie 1975/2011 The Whisky Agency

by Oliver Klimek on February 29, 2012

Bourbon hogshead – 51.6%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Bright amber
Nose: Granola with nuts, apple chips, vanilla, some wood is noticeable after a while; rather shy overall.
Palate: A rather complex mix of flavours that are difficult to separate, there is some fruit but also a savoury element, and it’s accompanied by a slight old-fashioned waxiness.
Finish: Long, and fruity.
Overall: Rather unusually, this malt has a pretty ‘uneventful’ nose, but there is a lot going on on the palate. Not really a cracker, but interesting in a positive way.

Rating: 84/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2011 – Re-tasted for notes
