Aberfeldy 1997/2011 Single Cask

by Oliver Klimek on January 13, 2012

Sherry finish – cask 3618 – 58.1%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Prunes, dates, stewed apples, old oak, leather, fudge, cinnamon, hints of dried herbs.
Palate: Dates, dried apricots, burnt sugar, vanilla, pepper, mixed gingerbread spices.
Finish: Long, sweet fruit and a good bit of spice.
Overall: A very fine richly sherried malt, sweetness and spice are in good balance but it could have a little more depth.

Rating: 86/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2011 – Re-tasted for notes
