Port Charlotte 2002/2010 Whisky Doris

by Oliver Klimek on January 7, 2012

Cask 1171 – 63.5%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Straw
Nose: Very intensive. Smouldering logs in a fireplace, vanilla, cloves, hints of mazipan, minmally floral.
Palate: Strong smoke, vanilla, toffee, cloves, cinnamon, hints of pepper, banana and citrus.
Finish: Very long, spicy and smoky.
Overall: A great heavily peated malt, very strong smoke combined with a nice underlying sweetness. It is still a bit young and rough but it’s an excellent dram.

Rating: 89/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Scored blind for the Malt Maniacs Awards 2011 – Re-tasted for notes
