Lochside 46 yo 1964 Single Blend TWE

by Oliver Klimek on December 31, 2011

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Bright amber
Nose: Pick and mix sweet shop, orange blossom honey, apricot jam, freshly cut wood, cinnamon.
Palate: Very strong on apricots and peaches, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, minimal hints of pepper.
Finish: Very long and fruity.
Overall: The perfect fruit bomb. Fabulous, simply fabulous. This is my favourite dram of 2011.

Rating: 94/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Remember our Twitter conversation about what 1964 bottle to put away for my 50th birthday? You didn’t mention this one, but Stuart Robson did – and it ended up being the one I went with. I have a bottle of this cooling its jets until 8/14/14. I also have a 1964 Invergordon and a Port Dundas. I have samples of the 1964 Glenfarclas Family Cask too. Now, all I need is someone to part with a dram of the Black Bowmore (or white, or gold, or 1964 Fino) and I’m all set!

I am not sure if it was before I published this or if I simply did not think about this one. Be assured it is fantastic.
