Caperdonich 1972/2011 Malts of Scotland

by Oliver Klimek on December 10, 2011

Sherry Hogshead 1144 – 57.4%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Bright amber
Nose: Very intensive. Apples, raisins, banana, honey, freshly cut wood, nutmeg and pepper.
Palate: Apples, raisins, banana, butterscotch, hints of mint, lot of spices with ginger, nutmeg, pepper and even a little chili.
Finish: Long, spicy and slightly fruity with a whiff of barrel char smoke.
Overall: A very intensive Caperdonich with a rather dominant spiciness. Usually I am not a big fan of that, but here it is not disturbing

Rating: 87/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
