My Tasting Notes
Colour: Medium amber
Nose: Strong maritime smoke, Black Forest ham, cherries and berries, cloves, hints of cardamom and pepper.
Palate: The black crust af a Black Forest ham marinated with red wine, liquorice, cloves and pepper. The peat is there but not too dominant.
Finish: Very long, smoky and spicy.
Overall: Simply an excellent bottling. The sherry influence adds yet another layer of flavours to the already very rich Ardbeg spirit.
