Bunnahabhain Darach Ur Batch 6

by Oliver Klimek on October 14, 2011

My Tasting Notes

Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Vanilla, polished wood, toasted bread, cardamom, nutmeg, hints of citrus, cloves and pepper.
Palate: Vanilla, mixed toasted and roasted notes, honey, lemon zest, cardamom, cloves, hints of cinnamon, nutmeg and pepper.
Finish:  Long, mildly seet and spicy.
Overall: There is a Compass Box whisky called Spice Tree, but this one can safely be called ‘Spice Monster’. Its general character is rather smoth, but the flavours are very strong.

Rating: 87/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Buy Bunnahabhain Darach Ur at The Whisky Exchange (Batch may differ)

It sounds like Batch 6 is pretty similar to Batch 4 I tasted in June… Our notes match pretty perfect. Actually I have to admit that it grew on me a lot after I first reviewed it. Definitely worth the money.

So far I only have tasted batches 1 and 6. 6 is definitly a notch up. Seems to be pretty recent as a lot of Batch 5 still seems to be on the shelves.
