Mortlach 1975/2000 Signatory

by Oliver Klimek on September 30, 2011

Cask 6258 – 58%

My Tasting Notes

Colour: Dark gold
Nose: Vanilla, walnuts, honey, resin, cloves, hints of nutmeg.
Palate: Honey, vanilla, apples, banana chips, nutmeg and black pepper.
Finish:  Long, fruity and spicy.
Overall: A very nice Mortlach, not a sherry monster for a change, but with a cloying syrupy mouthfeel that is simply delicious.

Rating: 87/100 –No price information as this is a collector’s bottle

I tasted so many good Mortlach expressions this year like Murray & McDavid 14yo Sauternes-Chateau d’Yquem finish and Old Malt Cask 12yo… This one sounds really good, too… Thanks…

I usually prefer the full sherry Mortlachs but this one is really splendid.
