Laphroaig 1998/2011 Malts of Scotland

by Oliver Klimek on September 29, 2011

Bourbon hogshead 700272 – 59.6%

My Tasting Notes

Colour: Straw
Nose Wood smoke, vanilla, honey, a bowl of citrus fruit in a hospital room, liquorice and cloves, very maritime with water.
Palate: Strong peat, lemon zest, vanilla, sugar, liquorice, cloves, nutmeg, hints of pineapple and pepper
Finish: Long, sweet and smoky.
Overall: This Laphroaig is a bit on the sweet side which complements the smoke and spice very nicely.

Rating: 86/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
