Savanna Grand Arôme 2001 – 7 yo

by Oliver Klimek on September 7, 2011

Île de la Réunion – Single cask – 46%

My Tasting Notes

Colour: Dark agold
Nose: Ye olde worlde sweet shoppe and lots of aromatic spices like ginger, cinnamon and green pepper, but also a whiff of flowers and vinegar.
Palate: Plums stewed in red wine, vanilla, apricots, candied citrus fruit, ginger and cinnamon, hints of whilte balsamic vinegar.
Finish: Very long, fruity and slightly spicy.
Overall: This is excellent, light bodied but very strongly flavoured. The very light vinegar note is not unpleasant at all. Altogether it is much more fruity than sweet. The finish is endless
