The character of this malt certainly hints to a Lagavulin. This is a superb whisky that perfectly combines fruit and smoke. – Rating: 92/100

This very rich malt has to be savoured drop by drop. There are a lot of flavours to explore, but it’s a bit too woody to break the 90 point barrier. – Rating: 89/100

Well-balanced and very complex, this is very fine example of a Japanese vatted malt. The general character is rather dry with the fruity notes remaining in the background. – Rating: 87/100

Springbank 1992/2011 Berry Bros.

The age does not show at all here. In one way it is a rather typical – or should I say generic? – Springbank, but I can’t help the feeling there is something missing here. – Rating: 82/100

This is a nice dram, all flavours are well put together with nothing standing out. There is nothing really noteworthy to report, though, and it has quite an alcohol bite, too. – Rating: 83/100
