Single malt whisky from South Africa – 43%
My Tasting Notes
Colour: Dark gold
Nose: A bit shy first, becomes stronger with time. Vanilla, polished wood, grapefruit, apples, hints of pepper and a whiff of smoke.
Palate: Apples, hints of exotic fruits, vanilla, fudge, very gently peat and quite a bit of wood spice.
Finish: Long, spicy and slightly smoky.
Overall: South Africans can make good whisky too. It’s a bit on the spicy side, but the other flavours are strong enough to counter it.
Rating: 80/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Hi Oliver.
Glad to see you had a chance to try this. I rated it 82pts so our sentiments are the similar. I’m willing to admit my 2 extra points are due to the pride this bottling instills, being that I hail from the same country

I didn’t get as much spiciness as you, but it gives me an excuse to drink a few more pours and ‘calibrate’. Cheers.
