Glengoyne English Merchants’ Choice

by Oliver Klimek on August 21, 2011

Sherry hogshead 2716 – 1997/2010 – 12 yo – 54.6%

My Tasting Notes

Colour: Mahogany
Nose: Prunes, cassis, dark chocolate, cinnamon, hints of pipe tobacco and cloves.
Palate: Prunes, ripe forest berries, dark chocolate, black tea, hints of fresh herbs and mixed spices.
Finish: Long, fruity and slightly dry.
Overall: A very rich sherry monster with a fantastic nose. The palate lacks a little depth, despite the driness you can feel that it is still rather young.

Rating: 85/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
