Bunnahabhain 1998/2011 Adelphi

by Oliver Klimek on August 10, 2011

Fist fill sherry butt 6038 – 55%

My Tasting Notes

Colour: Mahogany
Nose: Brandy-soaked Christmas pudding, treacle toffee, dark chocolate, hints of bergamote, struck matches and ginger.
Palate: Very dry, prunes, orange marmalade, strong tea, 99% cocoa chocolate, hints of oxtail soup.
Finish: Long, dry and fruity.
Overall: A small dose of sulphur is spicing up this already very rich dram even more. It is extremely densely flavoured, but the quite prominent driness knocks a few points off the score.

Rating: 84/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
