Ardmore Traditional Cask

by Oliver Klimek on July 26, 2011

My Tasting Notes

Colour: Dark gold
Nose: Eating a honeyed toast at a fireplace, raisins, orange zest, vanilla, marzipan, hints of cinnamon and cloves.
Palate: Sweet peat, a bit of liquorice, vanilla, marzipan, cinnamon, cloves, just hints of fruit.
Finish: Very long, smoky and slightly sweet.
Overall: After a great nose, the palate of this peated Speyside malt trails a bit behind as the fruit has lost some of its influence. Still a very nice dram, though.

Rating: 83/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

I think I need to revisit this one. On my first few tastings, I was not very impressed. The price is right, however. Maybe I’ll revisit this weekend. Nice notes, Oli!

I had this first years ago before I started taking notes, so I decided to revisit it after seeing it in our supermarket. It’s not the mother of all drams but a solid entry for the “daily dram” category
