The Islay rumour mill is running red hot thse days. The success of the latest committee bottling, Ardbeg Alligator, must have been so overwhelming that the distillery spontaneously decided to up the ante. Well informed sources leaked information that Ardbeg still had some of their 2010 Rollercoaster single malt in stock, so they vatted it with remaining malt from their alligator char experiments on a 50:50 basis.
The result is aptly named Rollator – and it is supposed to be a staggering dram in the truest sense of the word. It will be available from selected Ardbeg Embassies within the next weeks.

Nae bother, I just received a telephone call from my source that due to unexpected technical difficulties, the release is likely to be postponed until 01/04/2012
It’s nice that they are doing a bottling aimed at more senior drinkers.
