Sherry hogshead – 49.4%

My Tasting Notes

Colour: Dark Mahogany
Nose: Toasted almonds, almost like amaretto, herbal liqueur, candied citrus fruit.
Palate: Very herbal, slightly bitter, slightly meaty with water.
Finish: Long, dry, herbal and slightly bitter.
Overall: 41 years in a sherry hogshead were too much for this malt. Not unpleasant at all, but the whisky character is almost gone, it tastes more like a mixture of old rum and a herbal bitter.

Score: 84/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
