Cask 514 – 55.2%
My Tasting Notes
Nose: Very intense. Christmas cake, dark chocloate with candied oranges, faint whiffs of chimney smoke and firecrackers.
Palate: Christmas cake soaked in dry oloroso sherry, strong tea, bitter oranges, beef stock, fudge, cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg.
Finish: Long, fruity and dry, minimally bitter and slightly smoky at the end.
Overall: This single cask bottling feels like the standard Benromach 10 yo on steroids. I like the the touch of sulphur that is beefing up this already very rich whisky even more.
