Mackie’s Haggis & Cracked Black Pepper Crisps

by Oliver Klimek on May 12, 2011

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Bright gold to dark brown.
Nose: Burnt toast, pepper, hints of onions and liver.
Palate: French fries, deep fried haggis from the Fish & Chips shop, onions and lots of pepper.
Finish: Long and peppery.
Overall: Claimed to be made with only natural ingredients, the taste of these crisps is surprisingly close to the real thing even though only “pork flavouring” was used. But the pepper is too dominant. Best served with a neep dip and a dram of Sheep Dip.

Rating: 78/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
