My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark gold
Nose: Raisins, nuts, honey, hints of ginger and pepper.
Palate: Honey, raisins, lemon zest, caramelized walnuts, ginger, nutmeg and pepper.
Finish: Long, sweet and spicy.
Overall: Not as fruity as the Double Wood, the second entry level bottling of Balvenie is more on the sweet and spicy side. It’s an enjoyable dram, but I prefer the former.
