Sazerac 18 yo 2010 Release

by Oliver Klimek on April 4, 2011

Straight rye from the Bufflo Trace Antique Collection – 45%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Copper
Nose: Caramel, wood polish, orange zest, dried banana, tobacco, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon.
Palate: Bitter oranges, prunes, banana, burnt sugar, tea, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Finish: Very long and dry with spicy fruit.
Overall: The mix of fruit, exotic spices and dry wood flavours in this rye is excellent. The age is well noticeable, but the spirit is so rich it has no problems to deal with it.

Rating: 88/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
