Caol Ila 1995/2009 James MacArthur

by Oliver Klimek on March 14, 2011

Sherry cask 10042 – 58.4%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Bright gold
Nose: Very strong, smoked ham, sea air, candied lemons, hints of honey and liquorice.
Palate: Peat, honey, mixed fruit candies, vanilla, nutmeg and cloves.
Finish: Very long, fruity and smoky.
Overall: The sherry adds a nice and slightly sweet fruitiness to this Caol Ila. A fantastic and strongly flavoured dram that should be enjoyed in small sips.

Rating: 88/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
