Mortlach 1996/2010 James MacArthur

by Oliver Klimek on February 7, 2011

Bourbon cask 1007 – 45%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Pale straw
Nose: Very shy, becoming a little stronger with time, vanilla, hints of pineapple and pear, slightly floral.
Palate: Malty breakfast cereals, lemon, vanilla, hints of ginger, slightly spicier with a little water.
Finish: Medium long and fruity.
Overall: This malt was aged in a refill cask that didn’t have much strength anymore to contribute to the flavour. No real flaws but rather unimpressive.

Rating: 76/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
