Islay blended malt from Douglas Laing – 46%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Pale straw
Nose: A seaweedy ocean breeze, liquorice drops in a medicine cabinet, a burnt down bonfire.
Palate: Smooth peat, jelly beans, liquorice, smoked ham, citrus fruit and a pinch of salt.
Finish: Very long and smoky.
Overall: Contrary to its name this isn’t a true peat monster. But it is a dangerously sippable smooth and smoky malt with a lot going on on the palate.
Rating: 86/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
