My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Straw
Nose: Citrus fruit, apricot, vanilla, polished wood, hints of nuts and malt.
Palate: Malt, lemon zest, vanilla, ginger and pepper.
Finish: Long, fruity and spicy, even a little salty at the end.
Overall: Like ever so often the palate doesn’t quite deliver what the gorgeous nose is promising. The wood spices are dominating the other flavours. The finish again is great.

I thought it a pretty good dram. A quite fierce taste, with a lot of flavours that differ from what you expect after nosing it! I reckoned it was the most exciting premium release of last year (not counting the Port Ellen and Brora, that is).
I noticed that I tend to be put off a little by strong spices in plain bourbon cask malts like this one. Your mileage may vary
