On my nightly cruises through the whisky web I stumbled across a most amazing picture. It is attributed to a company called Ice Caters who have set out on a quest for the perfect ice ball and it unmistakably shows the famous Macallan Ice Ball Maker. But the glass – clearly – contains nothing we could identify as an ordinary (if you allow it to be called so) Macallan single malt Scotch whisky.
Well-informed sources say that Macallan is secretly working on a revolutionary new line of whisky epxressions – The Crystal Macallan. Well in line with the growing trend towards uncoloured whiskies it will nevertheless set a new benchmark in chill-filtration technology.
Finally the perfect match for the Ice Ball Serve has been found. Renowned French Glassmaker Lalique is said to design a spherical crystal decanter for the flagship MacCrystal 40. It will be available at selected duty free airport shops in very limited quantities from the 1st of April.

Ha! Or as Homer Simpson might say, mmmmm, invisible whisky.
I only doubt that Moe could afford an ice ball maker

Interesting that the decanter will be made available on April 1st… This must be the earliest April Fool Joke in whisky history!
