Port Ellen 1982/2010 Cask 2039 – Old Bothwell

by Oliver Klimek on December 31, 2010

57.5%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Bright gold
Nose: Fresh sea air, chimney smoke, lemon zest, a hint of cloves and vanilla, becomes fruitier with a little water.
Palate: Slightly medicinal peat, liquorish, a spoonful of mixed fruit cocktail with honey, hints of rosemary, cloves, ginger and salt.
Finish: Very long, fresh and smoky.
Overall: After giving it a little time to open up this malt devlops into a festival of maritime and spicy flavours accompanied by fruity chords. A whisky not too far away from perfection.

Rating: 93/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
