Poll Result: Dramming at the Computer

by Oliver Klimek on December 12, 2010

Here are the results of the November poll about enjoying whisky while sitting at the computer. 65 people have cast their votes this time:

  1. 28 votes (43%) – Of course! That’s what I usually do.
  2. 17 votes (26%) – I don’t mind, but I prefer offline dramming.
  3. 16 votes (25%) – Why not? It’s nice for a change.
  4. 4 votes (6%) – No, I don’t like that.

68% or more than two thirds of the voters actually enjoy dramming at the computer, the majority of them even stating that this the common way for them to have their whisky. Slightly more than quarter of the people prefer dramming offline but are not opposed to do so at the the computer. And only a very small fraction actually dislikes the concept.

Even though I expected a majority in favour of online dramming, I was a little surprised by the margin. To be honest I expected that far more than 6% of the voters would say no.

This result clearly shows that whisky on the internet is not a mere academic issue. For a big majority of whisky lovers surfing the whisky web is more enjoyable while sipping on a dram.

Numbers probably skewed cuz your sample group was
a) already looking at a whisky website
b) at his/her computer looking at said website
Interesting nonetheless.

Of course thie poll is not representative for all whisky drinkers. But it shows that most of those who use the internet for whisky related things are inclined to do so with a dram next to their keyboard.
