Heavily peated single malt form Cooley – 58.2%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Pale straw
Nose: Medicine cabinet, rubber, lemon peel.
Palate: Very strong peat without any nocticeable smoke, gentle citrus fruit is peeking through as well as faint cereal notes. Can take a lot of water.
Finish: Very long, dry and peaty.
Overall: This is a real young peat monster but not in the smoky Islay sense. The dry fruityness of the Connemara is something very unique. Amazingly complex for a malt that is very young, yet it cannot be called immature. But it might be too much for some.
Rating: 87/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
