Kentucky Straight Bourbon – 54.1%

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Very dark amber
Nose: Caramel, vanilla, peaches, orange zest, old leather.
Palate: Caramel, demerara sugar, vanilla, orange, cinnamon, hints of tea and tobacco.
Finish: Very long, fruity and spicy.
Overall: A high class bourbon that is perfectly drinkable at the original strength. Rich, complex and mature without being overly woody.

Rating: 86/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

My Tasting Notes:

Colour: Dark gold
Nose: Burnt down bonfire, smoked ham, lemonized sea air.
Palate: Rather peaty, breakfast bacon, citrus fruit, cloves, nutmeg, a pinch of salt.
Finish: Very long and smoky.
Overall: This is a most enjoyable expression. Quite strong but not overwhelming peat combined with a nice fruitiness, rounded off with gentle spices.
