Sherry Cask 5950 (part) – 58.6%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright gold
Nose: Deep fried banana with honey from the Chinese takeaway, waxed wood.
Palate: Honey, banana, pineapple, hints of nuts and vanilla, ginger and pepper.
Finish: Long, fruity and spicy.
Overall: Very unusually for a Mortlach, this malt is totally lacking the signature beefiness. It’s richly flavoured and full-bodied , though, making it a nice fruity Speyside dram like many others.
Rating: 83/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
