Cask 10/142 – 53.6%
My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Straw
Nose: Fresh and maritime, smoke, vanilla, citrus fruit.
Palate: A strong medicinal attack gives way to sweetness and saltiness with vanilla and lemon. Adding water adds some bitterness.
Finish: Long, smoky and a bit salty.
Overall: Compared to the 10yo Cask Strength this is a rather mild Laphroaig, but the higher age does not really result in a more rounded character. Adding water does not improve the whisky very much.
Rating: 83/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
