My Tasting Notes:
Colour: Bright gold
Nose: Smoked ham, fireplace, slightly medicinal with a hint of citrus.
Palate: Dry peat, lime, vanilla, a bit of ginger, slightly salty but also a bit sweet.
Finish: Long, smoky and spicy
Overall: It’s hard to pin it down, but I am not utterly convinced by this old version of the Smokehead. The nose is great, but on the palate the different flavours feel more like unconnected bits and pieces instead of being a harmonic ensemble. Given the high price tag, I am mildly disappointed.

disappointed?
i loved it. u didn’t get the bananas on the nose? i think it’s a killer
Well, it’s still a good malt, but for this price (EUR 80+) or even less there are many peaty drams out there that I like better. Laphroaig 18, Ardbeg Uigegail, Lagavulin DE, Talisker 18 for example. But there’s a favourite for everybody
I have read a couple of tasting notes after I had published mine. Only one other than yours mentioned bananas
