The nose is really impressive, but the palate is just much too watery. At cask strength this whisky could be a stunner, but at 40% one can only guess its potential. – Score: 73/100
For a change, this is not a recipe with whisky, but a recipe for whisky. My recent acqusition of a bottle of the Cameronbridge 29yo single grain gave birth to the idea of whipping together a blend of the finest whiskies my shelf has to offer.
The nose is a bit “chemical”, but the palate is quite nice, albeit a bit spirity. Much better than the standard bottling but still no true winner. – Score: 75/100
Extremely complex and sophisticated. But for me it is very mood dependend. I had days where it tasted only “OK”, but on others it sent me to heaven. – Score: 92/100
If you give this whisky a while to develop its aromas, you will be rewarded with a delicate and very complex dram. Highly enjoyable, but it comes at a price. – Score: 89/100
The Wine and Spirits Spiders have their names from circular diagrams that can be drawn from their components. Unfortunately there is only an example of a Winespider diagram available on the site, but it will do nicely for the job of demonstrating how the system works.
A great blend. It is perfectly drinkable and still rather smooth at 50%, but won’t take harm with a litle water added . Well-balanced and complex, but don’t look for peat here. – Score: 85/100
