Glenfiddich 12 yo Toasted Oak

by Oliver Klimek on April 22, 2010

My Tasting Notes:

Color: Full gold
Nose: Vanilla, apples, orange peel
Palate: Quite dry, vanilla, caramel, apples and oranges are now joined by grapes.
Finish: Rather long and fruity
Overall: I was rather disappointed by the Caoran Reserve, so I  was bit reluctant to try this other specially treated 12yo from Glenfiddich. But luckily this malt really is quite enjoyable. A nice and light fruitiness is gently enhanced by the cask wood wihtout being overwhelmed by spicyness. But as it is so often the case, it would be even better at 43% or 46%.

Score: 81/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
