Islay Cask finish – 40%
My Tasting Notes:
Color: Bright amber
Nose: Quite intense, orange peel, vanilla, a whiff of smoke and hints of leather.
Palate: Smoke, vanilla, mixed but weak fruits, watery.
Finish: Long and smoky.
Overall: The nose is really impressive, but the palate is just much too watery. At cask strength this whisky could be a stunner, but at 40% one can only guess its potential.
