St. Magdalene 1982/2009 Dun Bheagan

by Oliver Klimek on April 3, 2010

Cask #2219 – 50%

My Tasting Notes:

Color: Pale straw
Nose: Quite strong after a build-up phase of a few minutes, citrus fruit, leather, hay, vanilla.
Palate: Lemon peel, herbs, vanilla, caramel, ginger, mimally salty
Finish: Very long, fresh and spicy
Overall: One of the last witnesses of the lost glory of St. Magdalene. Extremely complex and sophisticated. But for me it is very mood dependent. I had days where it tasted only “OK”, but on others it sent me to heaven. Quite expensive!

Score: 92/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
