Cask #6080 – 56.3%
My Tasting Notes:
Color: Bright gold
Nose: Fresh and floral, citrus fruit, ocean shore, slightly smoky, takes a few minutes to build up.
Palate: Fresh herbs, bitter orange peel, a bit of pepper and a hint of peat.
Finish: Long and spicy
Overall: If you give this whisky a while to develop its aromas, you will be rewarded with a delicate and very complex dram. Highly enjoyable, but it comes at a price.
Score: 89/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

I have six bottles. It is My favourite but no more bottles around. My other heavyweights are Ardbeg Uigeadail, Aberlour A’bunadh, Glenfarclas ’105′ and Macallan 10 Cask stregth.
Have you come across the 1981 / 2010 28 yo mckillops HP? I can’t seem to find any tasting notes anywhere but I hear it’s quite good.
No, sorry. I haven’t seen that one yet.
fair enough, would you guess that it’s similar at all to this bottling?
Also, do you know what type of cask this is matured in? It’s very hard to find any info on these bottles.
All casks are different, so I wouldn’t risk a guess if it is similar. The 1981/2006 was most probably a bourbon cask.
