Rothaus Black Forest Single Malt 2006/2009

by Oliver Klimek on November 10, 2009

From Rothaus brewery in Germany – 43%

My Tasting Notes:

Nose: Malt, yeast, vanilla, slightly pungent
Palate: Vanilla, quite herbal with lots of mint, a weird note of mushrooms (or is it mold?), peppery
Finish: Quite long and mushroomy
Overall: The worst dram I ever had so far, mainly for the moldy mushroom flavour. Very immature and unbalanced. The brewery makes excellent beer. They should stick with that in order not to ruin their reputation. The price of €50 per bottle is ridiculuos. Avoid.

Score: 20/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
