2009 bottling – 48 %

My Tasting Notes

Nose: Vanila, some pears and apples, slightly pungent, a tiny bit of smoke
Palate: Very spicy, nutmeg, ginger and pepper, a bit of vanilla
Finish: Medium long
Overall: This one is a bit too spicy for my taste. There is not much to balance out the wood. It’s still not a bad whisky, but there is something missing.

Score: 80/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$

Was not the fifteen better, in spite of the fact that it was bottled at a lower strength, etc.?

I haven’t had the chance to taste the old fifteen, so I can’t comment on that. If anyone has a sample to spare, please let me know!
