Laphroaig Cairdeas – Feis Ile 2008

by Oliver Klimek on July 27, 2009

Special Bottling for the Islay Festival 2008 – 55%

My Tasting Notes

Nose: Typically Laphroaig, peat, seaweed, medicin cabinet, but also hints of fruit
Palate: Peat and medicine team up with a slight sherry sweetness. With a bit (!) of water it gets slightly salty
Finish: Long, sweet and dry
Overall: The typical Laphoaig kick is there, but more tamed in comparison to the 10 yo CS. Don’t use to much water! The sherry makes it an interesting variation from the standard, but it doesn’t quite live up to it.

Score: 86/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
