Rittenhouse Rye 100 Proof

by Oliver Klimek on July 21, 2009

A Rye Whisky from Kentucky – 50%

My Tasting Notes

Nose: Very intense rum and vanilla fragrance
Palate: Sweet dried fruit and very noticable wood notes, later a hint of mint
Finish: Rather long, vanilla and mint, strangely not much of the wood
Overall: Definitely more “edgy” than a bourbon. Very dominant wood influence that you have to like in order to appreciate the whisky. I do.

Score: 82/100 – Price Tag $$$$$ – Value for your Money $$$$$
